Krystal Salas was born and raised in San Diego. She began her BLCI journey in the 3rd grade and graduated as a senior in 2018. She participated in the leadership programs BLCI offers to this day being Circulo de Mujeres and the Leadership Council.
Krystal originally wanted to pursue Mechanical Engineering, but after an internship, she decided engineering was not her cup of tea. She completely did a 360 and decided to double major. This was the best decision she had ever made.
She currently is in her last year at San Diego State University double majoring in Social Work and Criminal Justice. She hopes to continue her higher education fulling a master’s program in counseling and working in detention facilities giving at risk individuals a second chance. She is also considering law school, but hopefully at a later time in her career.
