Juana was born in Illinois and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Juana is a UW-Whitewater Upward Bound alumni and has also served as a tutor for UW-Milwaukee Upward Bound during her undergrad career. She is a first gen Latina who attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she received her Bachelors of Science in International Studies. Shortly after she graduated, she started working at her old Elementary School and instantly fell in love with working with students and education. She ended up applying to graduate school in San Diego and completed her Master of Arts in Dual Language Education with an emphasis in Critical Literacy and Social Justice in 2022. While completing her Masters, Juana was involved with PASS Americorps and served in the Sherman Heights community where she grew meaningful relationships with families and students. Juana is passionate about helping students and families get the support they deserve when it comes to their future education and goals.
