As first-generation college students, BLCI youth lack generational access to college readiness. Being “the first” means they can’t rely on familial support and prior experience to help them navigate the path to college. This is where BLCI comes in. In the College and Career Readiness Program, we empower at-risk youth and their families to build confidence and develop essential life and educational skills, supporting their goal of becoming the first in their family to attend—and graduate from—college.
