Oscar Ramirez-Sanchez

Social Work Intern

Oz was born and raised in South Bay, San Diego. He is working towards his Bachelor’s in Social Work at SDSU. He hopes to complete the master’s program as well and become an LCSW. He has worked as a certified substance use disorder counselor for the last three years at an LGBTQ focused outpatient program in North Park. He says the most rewarding part of the job is having the opportunity to see clients develop and use the skills needed to succeed and work through their triggers and traumas.

Fun fact: Oz has travelled to over 30 countries in the last five years. Some of his favorite trips have been visiting the pyramids at Giza, Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, and hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Cuzco. He is excited to work with BLCI and get a chance to learn and grow with this new opportunity.
